A few people have asked me why I chose “Madame Weebles” as my nom de plume here. Well, I thought about a few possibilities. I could have gone with “Miss Weebles” but that sounds prissy, and “Ms. Weebles” is only slightly less prissy. And “Mrs. Weebles” sounds like it should be the name of a kindergarten teacher.
Then I decided to try international variations. “Señora Weebles” just didn’t sound right, even though I can’t quite figure out why. Same with “Signora Weebles.” I thought about “Frau Weebles” but that just sounds menacing.
I also considered “Madam Weebles” but that makes me sound like I should be running a brothel for people with a fetish for tiny, fat-bottomed toys. Not that I’m judging, it’s just not my thing.
So after running through all of those options, I settled on “Madame Weebles.” I don’t know if they have Les Weebles in France, but that’s not really the point.
In spite of adding the “e” at the end of Madam, I still think it sounds kinky. And I like it!

How about mademoiselle weebles, weeble’licious, weebles R’ us, etc… I can see how name picking can just drag on and on. But in the end, Madame Weebles does sound about right 🙂
Madame, do you have a blog called, “Why Weebles”?

I am not the person behind “Why Weebles?” But now I’m intrigued!

I think Madam Weebles is a great choice. I would definitely work for a Madam named Weebles. It makes me think you would bake me cookies while I was entertaining clients and I could have cold milk to dunk them in when I was finished. I don’t know how you’d get the money from me though, not unless you became Frau Weebles. I wouldn’t work for Fau Weebles, definitely not. ❤

I would totally bake cookies for you and all my ladies. But I’d want to wear some sort of old-school fancy Victorian madam outfit, so I’d have to figure out how to bake in that thing.
Frau Weebles would definitely get the money but she probably wouldn’t have a lot of people working for her, and not many clients. Kind of defeats the purpose.

It’s a good thing then that you’re not a Madam. Shame about the cookies though ❤

We called my history teacher at school the Weeble because she “wobbled but did not fall down”. As far as we could see.

Sorry for the tardy reply, Clare–was your teacher Weeble shaped as well, or did she just wobble? Just curious. 🙂

I had a Weebles haunted house in the 70s, with a glow-in-the-dark ghost Weeble, and I LOVED that toy set! So finding a blogger with the name Weebles who sometimes writes about ghosts is making me feel right at home.

Hello and welcome, Wednesday’s Child! So glad you’ve joined us! I didn’t have Weebles as a kid but I know the haunted house. But thanks to eBay I now have the Weebles from that set, including the glow-in-the-dark ghost. I figure there are worse hobbies to have…

I found you on twitter yesterday. It was like a mini piece of home somehow. Technology is getting all the more confusing in terms of merging with the real world. Oy. Here we go. I’m the pigeon woman, of course.

I definitely like your choice of Madame Weebles and I also like your machine gun wielding pussy cat as your profile picture, whereas from your wonderfully chosen title I would have expected a naughty lady of wickedness or something 😉

I tried splitting open my Weebles when I was young. I was so eager to see what was inside. My dad yelled at me for using the hammer on my toys… then I was forced to play with my Barbies. You have another follower, my dear.
